23 April 2014

BACnet Communications Protocol

BACnet is a communications protocol for building automation and control networks and is now available on the FOX Model FT2A Thermal Mass Flow Meter & Temperature Transmitter.  Established in 1987 in Nashville, Tennessee, use of BACnet has grown in the last 25 years to over 130 vendors and in a multitude of products such as Controllers and Routers.

BACnet benefits the Building Automation industry by allowing communication of building automation and control systems for applications such as heating, ventilating, and air-conditioning control, lighting control, access control, and fire detection systems.  Clear and proper communication between building automation devices is critical for maximizing building energy efficiency, indoor air quality, and other aspects of “green” buildings.
