Product of the Month
The PD6820 is a rugged, explosion-proof NEMA 4X loop-powered meter perfect for applications where a 5-digit display with 7 alphanumeric character legend or Total is required in a hazardous area.
The PD6820 derives all its power from the 4-20 mA loop. The PD6820 is configured and scaled using four push buttons and can be done without applying an actual calibration signal, and through the explosion-proof enclosure window with SafeTouch® infrared buttons. The PD6820’s display will read up to 99999 digits. The loop-powered backlighting option lets you see the display under any lighting condition and can be powered from the 4-20 mA loop, or separate DC power. The input can be scaled using linear, square root, or programmable exponent functions.
Process Instruments have launched a brand new website! After over a year in the making our new website has launched. Our priority when building & designing this site was to keep the customer in mind.
On the new site you will find a completely new structure that optimizes the user experience and journey. Ensuring that relevant content is accessed in as few clicks as possible.
Streamlined navigation provides easy access to site pages & search, contact information, social media links & our new PI Toolbox feature.
Process Instruments are excited to start working with a prestigious Cider Manufacturer and an expansion on their site.
Instruments were provided for various areas of the plant including Zone 1 and Zone 2 for fluids, additives, flavours and CIP applications.
Our client required a number of process fittings which included the requirement for Tri-Clamps and Weld-in fitting,
some of these instruments were as follows:
- MAG 1100 Flow Sensors complete with Weld-In connection fittings
- LVS300 Level Switches complete with Weld-In fittings
- LVS300 Level Switches complete with Tri-Clamp fittings
- P320 Pressure Transmitters complete with Weld-In fittings
- LVL200 Level Switches complete with Tri-Clamp fittings
Temporary plugs were also provided for the weld-in sockets to allow areas of the plant to shut down their processes for site service and maintenance.
Craig Hamman our Project & Site Services Manager recently passed his Gas & Vapours CompEx Qualification for electrical & instrument technicians working in hazardous locations.
Candidates had to learn about the safety considerations that should be applied to work areas that contain potentially explosive or flammable atmospheres and the factors that are used to classify their location.
He successfully demonstrated the knowledge & skills to meet the requirements & is now a fully qualified CompEx engineer.
